Terms of service

The service

Zavus rewrites text so it reads like a person wrote it. Rewrites are made by AI, so they can get things wrong: change a detail, drop a point, or read differently than you meant. You’re responsible for checking a rewrite before you use it. We don’t promise that a rewrite will pass any AI detector or suit any particular purpose.

We work to keep Zavus available, but it may sometimes be slow or down, and we may change or remove features.

Your account

You need to be at least 18 to use Zavus. Keep your sign-in and API keys safe; you’re responsible for what happens with them, including what your AI agents do on your account. Tell us at support@zavus.ai if you think someone else is using your account.

Your content

The text you send and the rewrites you get back are yours. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to store, copy and process them to provide Zavus, and to use them to improve Zavus, including to train and evaluate our models, as described in our privacy policy. Our rewriting providers may also keep and use them under their own terms. You confirm you have the right to send the text, and that you won’t send anything you aren’t comfortable with us keeping.

If you send us suggestions, or your agent sends feedback, we can use it to improve Zavus without owing you anything.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Zavus to:

• break the law or anyone’s rights, or create spam, scams, impersonation or misinformation;
• break rules that apply to you, such as a school’s academic integrity policy or an employer’s or publisher’s policy on AI;
• harass, threaten or harm anyone;
• get around our usage limits, share accounts or resell Zavus without our permission;
• attack, overload or reverse engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Plans and billing

Free words. New accounts can rewrite a small number of words for free, without a card.

Free trial. The trial needs a card. If you don’t cancel before it ends, your plan starts and your card is charged.

Subscriptions. Plans are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until you cancel. Words over your plan’s monthly allowance are billed at the rate shown on our pricing, at the end of the billing period. Prices don’t include taxes, which may be added.

Cancelling. You can cancel any time from the dashboard. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again. We don’t give refunds for partial months, unless the law requires it.

Price changes. We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice before a price change applies to you.

Ending your account

You can stop using Zavus and ask us to delete your account any time. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms or don’t pay, or end the service with reasonable notice. Sections that should naturally last beyond the end of your account, such as those on liability, keep applying.

Legal terms

No warranties. Zavus is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that it’s fit for a particular purpose, accurate, or uninterrupted.

Limit of liability. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or lost profits, data or reputation. Our total liability for any claim about Zavus is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $100.

Indemnity. If someone makes a claim against us because of your content or your use of Zavus in breach of these terms, you’ll cover our reasonable costs.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in Harris County, Texas, unless your local consumer law gives you other rights.

Changes. We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell you by email or in the dashboard at least 14 days before it applies. Using Zavus after that means you accept the new terms.

The rest. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about Zavus. If part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term isn’t a waiver. You can’t transfer these terms without our permission; we can transfer them as part of a merger or sale.
